If you’ve ever walked into RPM Spin, you know that it’s more than the calorie-burning fun that gets you hooked. The Community at RPM Spin is a huge aspect of what makes our studio so special, and our instructors are at the core of it all.
Meet Jill Danielson:
Where are you from originally? South Dakota
Why do you love working at RPM Spin: It’s a small business, so it really feels like a close community of riders. The owners, Rachel and Patrick, trusted me almost 4 years ago to be an instructor when I had no experience teaching, and they have allowed me to grow into the more experienced instructor I am today.
Favorite song to play while teaching: Too hard to choose! I play a lot of current popular music, but I do have a weakness for 90’s music, especially 90’s hip-hop/R&B.
Three words to describe your classes: fun, dancy, motivating
How does your day job compliment teaching spin: I work full-time as a pharmacist, so teaching spin is not only a great workout for me, but it’s also a way for me to be creative. My day job doesn’t involve much creativity, but making playlists and dancing on a bike gives me that outlet.
Best part about teaching: Of course it’s nice to hear when riders say they like my class, but it really sticks with me when I see someone just starting out and I get to watch them get better, and have fun doing it. We have so many talented riders, and I love watching them progress and seeing them have fun in class. It’s so much fun to see everyone really getting into the music, it feels like we’re a team.
